Volunteer Recruitment Drive for The Silver Line

Most recent update to our Volunteer Recruitment Drive for The Silver Line;

It’s been a while since we updated you on our progress with our volunteer recruitment drive for The Silver Line! You may remember, back in the summer months, we pledged a total of 38 hours to actively recruit volunteers for the charity’s elderly befriending service – the staple of their operations. We recognised that while it is very easy to donate money to a charity, donating time takes perseverance and dedication, something which we are certainly not in short supply of here at Bright! Our 38 hour total was based on Team GB’s wild success at the Olympics and Paralympics, where for every Gold, Silver & Bronze medal Great Britain won we agreed to donate 15, 10 & 5 minutes of our time respectively.

We are overwhelmed to announce that since our last update, we’ve now doubled our figures and managed to put 38 volunteer befrienders in contact with The Silver Line!

Add to this the 40 individuals that we’ve been in touch with or who have expressed interest in getting involved, and this takes our total up to 29 hours 35 minutes of volunteer time!

With only 8 hours left on our clock, we intend to make the biggest push yet, and we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop on our progress.

If you’d like to find out more about The Silver Line and what they do, take a look at their website; www.thesilverline.org.uk – and if you’d like to get involved in the Silver Friends volunteer befriending service, send an email to info@brightselection.co.uk with the subject ‘Silver Friends’.

Until next time!
