This is a newly created role as part of our clients new Dementia Care strategy, the home is registered for 60 beds in total but split into 6 house groups over 3 floors, facilities include a coffee bar that hosts regular coffee mornings, hairdressing salon, sun therapy room and cinema as well as licensed restaurants providing fresh and nutritional food, the home also boasts a beautifully landscaped garden with a number of popular activities all year and a potting shed on the top floor with a roof terrace.
CQC last inspected the home in June 2017 where they were rated good in all 5 KLOE’s and has achieved Beacon Status within the Gold Standards Framework for Palliative Care. The home is currently rated as 9.9 on carehome.co.uk.
As the Dementia Care Lead you will ensure the highest level of dementia care is provided, you will work closely with the home manager, clinical lead and their regional Admiral nurse to lead on their dementia strategy for the home, this will include training and development of staff, promoting a rewarding and encouraging environment, continuously keeping upto date with current thinking in this field of expertise. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records and care planning, coaching the clinical and care team always providing support and guidance.
Requirements for the role:
- Senior Nurse (RGN\RMN) with an active PIN
- Proven track record of working in a supervisory role in a care home setting
- Experience of working in a Dementia care setting
- Excellent knowledge of care legislation including CQC
- Strong leadership & communication skills
