Ward Manager – End of Life/Palliative Care – Guildford

Salary: £31k – £44k Band 7

As the successful Ward Manager you will provide clinical leadership and management support to the in-patient unit team, always ensuring the highest standards of holistic nursing care is provided. You will work closely with the Lead Consultant to co-ordinate and develop the In-Patient Unit and deputise for the Director of Nursing when needed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise to the healthcare team and volunteers
  • Lead, coach & motivate the staff team always promoting clinical excellence
  • Responsible for staff training & personal development
  • Ensure the in-patient unit is compliant with NMC regs, Misuse of Drugs Act & CQC
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals and represent the hospice

Experience Required:

  • Registered Nurse with an active PIN
  • Proven background of working in a palliative care setting
  • Ability to identify & implement change
  • Clinically astute
  • Excellent leadership & development skills
  • Medical & Oncology experience
  • Able to work sensitively and collaboratively
