This week, whilst attending the Care Show, Bright Selection’s Karen Hedger and Emma Everett took the opportunity to visit Lianne Sturmey, Commissioning Manager, and Matthew Adlem, Group Operations and Clinical Manager, at EQ Care Group Ltd’s beautiful home, The Oaks in Rubery.

The visit was more than just a catch-up — it was a celebration of shared success, meaningful partnerships, and the remarkable impact of exceptional leadership. Over tea and some delicious homemade cake, Karen and Emma heard about The Oaks’ recent achievements, as well as those of the wider EQ Care Group, which proudly includes The Rowans in Wigan — recently awarded an Outstanding rating by the CQC.

Both Lianne and Matthew were successfully placed by Emma, our Senior Consultant, and it was wonderful to see firsthand the difference they’ve have both made since joining the organisation. During their tour of The Oaks, the warmth, happiness, and sense of community within the home were unmistakable.

Karen and Emma were particularly struck by the enthusiasm and engagement of everyone they met that lived and worked in the home. The passion and pride that Lianne, Matthew, and their colleagues bring to their work truly shone through, reflecting the positive leadership and strong teamwork that lie at the heart of EQ Care Group’s continued success.
