London Marathon 2017 – Steph’s Journey

The Virgin Money London Marathon 2017 is just round the corner as runners put on their favourite trainers, charity vests or ridiculous costumes in preparation for the big day. Rumour has it there are a variety of celebrity runners competing this year alongside professional athletes from around the world. We’re particularly excited this year because our Senior Consultant Stephanie White will be rubbing shoulders with all of them as she dons her vest for the Motor Neurone Disease Association to run in aid of the charity and her stepfather, William, who lives with the condition.

Our London Marathon runner Steph!

Steph has been in training since October and recently completed the Colchester Half Marathon alongside her running partner and close friend Kat Rigby with a fantastic time of 2 hours 12 minutes, and we can’t wait to hear of her final time on the big day. To raise the £6,000 she and Kat need to run for MNDA, they have hosted an eclectic mix of events including a Quiz Night, Family Fun Day and pamper evening, and we at Bright also hosted our Superhero Boot Camp event in the Summer to help support the pair with fundraising.

Her story of running for William was recently published in the Colchester Gazette, and with her charity ‘ramble’ with dogs of all shapes and sizes along the Wrabness coastline set for the first week of April, Steph and Kat are ever closer to raising all of the money they need ready for the 23rd. We’ll be keeping you updated with their progress and final results to keep your eyes out for further coverage!
